Online volunteering hub launched in Northants

The Get Involved Hub, a community volunteering website developed by Northamptonshire County Council has been re-launched and now makes it even easier for prospective volunteers and organisations across the county to find each other.

The Hub, which was first launched in 2015, provides access to hundreds of Northamptonshire-based volunteering opportunities. The website is easy to use and very flexible, enabling people to search by organisation, postcode, area location, availability or type of volunteering role to help find the perfect opportunity for them – they can even say whether they are looking for a one-off opportunity or a regular, long-term placement.

Organisations looking to recruit volunteers can also register with the Get Involved Hub and add their own volunteering opportunities to the website. More than 80 already use the Hub and the latest version of the website will offer an even broader range of organisations the opportunity to register and find the volunteers they need.

Councillor Sylvia Hughes, county council cabinet member for public health and wellbeing said:

Volunteering is such a great way for people to enhance their lives, by giving them the opportunity to make new friends, be part of a team, learn new skills and build their confidence.

“The Get Involved Hub was created to make it easier for people to find volunteering opportunities that might suit them.

“The website has now been redesigned to make it even easier for people to find volunteer roles and for local organisations to add their own volunteering opportunities and promote them to a wider audience.”
