Alcohol – Drinkaware
Did you know that drinking three pints of beer in one sitting is classified as binge drinking? Or that your standard one glass of wine every night is considered dangerous drinking?
Alcohol is a big part of our culture and social setting. It might not seem like you are drinking too much, but even having just one or two drinks on most nights can do serious harm to your health – both physically and mentally.
For most people, alcohol is part of a balanced and healthy life. However, the reality is it is all too easy to drink too much (and too often).
First for Wellbeing offers information and advice to help people change their relationship towards alcohol. Our service is designed to get people thinking about their alcohol intake – about how much they drink, what they drink and why they drink. Whether you are looking at taking a break from alcohol or are simply cutting back – we are here to provide the answers and support to get you through.
“I had no idea that drinking just two glasses of wine a day was considered quite dangerous drinking levels. Now, I actually think about whether I really do want that drink, and if it is actually worth it.”
